Never Miss a Queued Alert: Introducing “Release Jobs After the Limit Window Closes”
In mission-critical operations, receiving timely notifications during system failures or catastrophic events is essential. For years, businesses have relied on EmailToVoice.Net to bridge the gap between automated software alerts and immediate human action by converting emails into voice calls and SMS alerts.
To protect your team from being overwhelmed by repetitive notifications during an alert storm or system failure, we established the EtoB Active Window (Send Limit Cutoff) feature in your Customer Portal. This powerful tool acts as a critical safeguard, ensuring that monitoring systems do not flood your responders’ devices with hundreds of redundant alerts.
Until recently, any alerts sent outside of your configured active window or during a limit cutoff period were simply blocked and ignored to prevent over-delivery. However, we listened to our customers’ needs. Responders often still need to see those critical notifications once normal operational hours resume or when the limit window closes.
We are excited to introduce a game-changing upgrade: Release jobs after the limit window closes.
How the New Feature Works
Instead of discarding messages sent outside your active window, EmailToVoice.Net can now accept and hold them.
Once the limit window closes and your active window opens again, our system automatically schedules and releases these queued jobs.
Key features of this update include:
- Automatic Queuing: Any voice or SMS alert blocked by your send limits is automatically held in a queue.
- Controlled Release: Blocked jobs are scheduled to be sent out the moment your active window opens.
- 24-Hour Safeguard: To ensure communications remain relevant, queued jobs are scheduled for a maximum of one day in the future. If an alert is older than 24 hours, it will not be sent, preventing outdated notifications from cluttering devices.
Managing Your Alert Flow
This feature is easily managed through your secure Customer Portal under My Details. This no-code setup ensures you can keep your systems simple and robust without complex API programming or manual scripting. You can seamlessly toggle this queue-and-release capability alongside your existing EtoB Send Limit Cutoff settings to align with your team’s on-call shifts and operational hours.
Conclusion
At EmailToVoice.Net, we are committed to making business communication as reliable and efficient as possible. By letting you hold and schedule blocked jobs, we ensure your team stays informed without suffering from alert fatigue.
